Marilyn Mateo, 44, Arrested For Striking Maria Frasca, 85

On Sunday, December 16, 2018, at approximately 1305 hours, police responded to a 911 call of a pedestrian, struck at E. Tremont Avenue and Miles Avenue, within the confines of the 45th Precinct in the Bronx.

Upon arrival, police observed a conscious and alert 85-year-old female with head trauma at the location. A preliminary investigation revealed that a 2014 Nissan sedan operated by a 44-year-old female was traveling northbound on Miles Avenue and was making a left turn onto E. Tremont Avenue when the vehicle struck the pedestrian.

EMS responded and transported the pedestrian to Jacoby Hospital in stable condition where she was later pronounced deceased.

The operator of the vehicle remained on scene and the investigation remains ongoing by NYPD’s Collision Investigation Squad.

Following proper family notification, the deceased has been identified as indicated.
