Help Identify A Robbery Suspect

The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in ascertaining the whereabouts of the unidentified male who is seen in the attached surveillance photo and is sought in connection with a robbery in Transit within the confines of the Transit District 12 / the 40 Precinct in Bronx.

Details are as follows.

It was reported to police that on Thursday, April 4, 2019 at 0500 hours on the northbound platform of the Cypress Avenue 6 Train Station, an unidentified male approached the victim, a 38-year-old female, and punched her in her face. The victim fell on the platform and the unidentified male kicked her and removed her purse, which contained ID, bank cards, and a MetroCard, from her hands. The unidentified male fled the station. The victim exited the subway system and called police from a nearby commercial location. She refused medical attention.

A photo of the suspect is attached and available at DCPI. It shows the unidentified male on Thursday, April 4, 2019 (same day) at 2327 hours using the victim’s MetroCard at the 51 Street Station on the Lexington Avenue Line.

The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers’ website or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then enter TIP577.
