On Sunday, April 14, 2019, Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. attended the “Kings Stop Killing Kings” anti-violence march and rally. The march took place on the Grand Concourse, beginning at Fordham Road, and stopped at the Bronx County Building at East 161st Street for a rally.

The march was inspired by the recent death of rapper and community activist Nipsey Hussle.

“This is an issue that’s personal to me because gun violence has touched my own community and has ruined the lives of young men I knew from my neighborhood,” said Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. “It’s up to us as a community to disavow violence and come together in peace. The tragic death of Nipsey Hussle inspired this march but we need to keep that momentum strong. I thank the organizers for bringing hundreds of people out for this cause.”
