The organization also aims to minimize the impact of drug abuse, misuse, propaganda and addiction within local communities. According to its website, [they] plan to create a social platform and an unwavering agenda for communicating facts without basis on judgement or morality, and to encourage progressive living through the arts and education. The ASAP Foundation was founded in memory of “ASAP Yams,” Steven Rodriguez.

Chief organizer, Oluwaseun Olushoga, Syracuse University Alum and Bronx native, along with other members of the ASAP Foundation team, hosted a back to school supplies drive for inner city youths, with a particular focus on the Harlem community. The event took place at the Children’s Aid-Dunlevy Milbank Center. Superstar members of the ASAP Mob, to include ASAP Rocky and ASAP Twelvy were born in Harlem.

The event was well attended by young people in the Harlem community. The event provided free school supplies to include winter jackets, sneakers, boots, backpacks, pens, hats, tee-shirts, notebooks, and any other supplies you can think of. The event featured a basketball tournament, performances by upcoming young rap artists, a DJ, and food was donated by Dos Toros Taqueria, a restaurant with locations in New York City and Chicago. Donations also came in from the Knicks, LYBB, G.R.A.P.E. Records amongst other organizations.

This is the first-ever annual back to school drive organized by the A.S.A.P Foundation and the organizing committee is already planning next year’s event, set to take place in 2019. Olushoga states, “this is only the beginning, thank you to everyone who participated in making this event a success.”
