Jennifer Lopez was born on July 24, 1969 in the Castle Hill section of the Bronx a Middle class neighborhood in New York City. Jennifer’s father David Lopez was a Computer Technician, and her mother Guadalupe Rodriguez-Lopez a Kindergarten teacher.

Jennifer is the middle child of three daughters, her elder sister Leslie is a housewife and opera singer. Lynda, the youngest, an on air personality with stints as DJ on New York’s WKTU, VJ for VH1, and a morning news show correspondent on New York’s Channel 11.

Jennifer is of Puerto Rican descent and is fluent in both English and Spanish. Jennifer took singing and dancing lessons starting from age 5 and attended Catholic school throughout Elementary and High School. Upon graduating from High School Jennifer briefly worked at a Law Firm while attending dance classes at night.

At 18, Jennifer left home to pursue a career in Entertainment, a decision that Jennifer’s mother was at odds with. In 1990 Jennifer was cast for the hit Fox TV series “In Loving Color” where she began her career in Los Angeles.

Jennifer soon went on to be featured in the film “My Family” (1995), and her burgeoning movie career took off from there. Jennifer went on to star in notable Hollywood Box Office hits like “Money Train” (1995) alongside Wesley Snipes and Woody Harrelson, “Jack” (1996) with Robin Williams and Diane Lane. “Selena” (1997) which is considered to be her breakout role because she received her first nomination for a Golden Globe award for best Actress. In 1997 she starred in “Anaconda” with Ice Cube and Jon Voight. The following year she starred alongside George Clooney in “Out of Sight” (1998) which gave Jennifer a noteworthy buzz and catapulted her career to that of the list of “A-list” actors in Tinsel Town. “The Wedding Planner” (2001), and “Maid in Manhattan” (2002) were all successful films for Jennifer.

In addition to films Jennifer has also had a successful recording career with 7 studio albums. Her debut album “On the 6” was released on June, 1999 and reached to the top of the Billboard Charts with the number one single “If You Had my Love”. Jennifer success continued with her next album “JLO” which topped the Billboard 200 when it debut January 2001. The album spawned many hits include “Aint It Funny” and “Love Don’t Cost a Thing”. Lopez follow up albums “J to tha L- O! The Remixes and This is Me… Then” (2004) , Rebirth (2005), “Como ama una Mujer” (2007) and Brave (2007) faired well and solidified Jennifer’s place in the music world as Her LP “Love” (2011) features the number one hit “On The Floor”

Jennifer is also known as a Fashion Icon for her stylish trends which she branded with her highly successful line JLO. Known as much for her personal life as she is for her professional life Jennifer recently filed for divorce from her singer/actor husband Marc Anthony whom she has twins with Max, 3 and Emme, 3. Jennifer was previously married to Ojani Noa her first husband, Chris Judd and her highly publicized romances with actor Ben Affleck whom she was engaged with and Music mogul Diddy.

Jennifer is set to be inducted to the Hollywood walk of fame 2012.
